Mount Vernon Church of the Nazarene

Completed comprehensive acoustical assessment of the sanctuary and provided phased acoustic remediation plan to enhance worship and daily use.
Evaluated the existing conditions within church sanctuary and adjacent meeting nook. Verified the root cause of complaints from staff and congregants associated with reduced speech intelligibility due to longer than desired reverberation times, elevated sound strength which increases the perception of amplified music and other noise during community events. These issues are creating challenges that are noticeably detrimental to the perception of sermons, music, and large events. Our team developed a multi-phase cost-effective remediation plan that considers the needs and limitations of this community enabling the church congregation to achieve its aspirations for the space.

Chapel Hill Church

Completed sound isolation assessment between basement youth ministries “arena” and upper floor main sanctuary to developed remediation plan to allow services to run concurrently.
The youth ministries music and activities were regularly perceptible within the main sanctuary and a concern for the congretation. Our team completed a sound transmission asssessment from the suspended speakers and airborne sound, to evaluate the impact from singing and clapping. The measured performance was compared to the constructed floor-ceiling assembly. A detailed acoustic mitigation plan was engineered to improve the sound isolation to meet the performance goals for these adjacencies. Our team also evaluated the HVAC noise impacting the youth ministries / dining area.
