Meet our Team
Tenor is changing the conversation about what good acoustical design sounds like.
We're on a mission.
Erik Miller-Klein is a nationally recognized educator on acoustical design and mitigation. He holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering with an Acoustics Concentration and Music (Composition and Theory). His background in science and music gives him a finely tuned ear to noise issues and a general curiosity to understand the fundamental cause of noise and vibration. He has served as the chair of ASHRAE’s Technical Committee 2.6 Sound and Vibration, currently serves on the 189.1 Standard committee, the FGI Acoustics Committee, and is active with ASTM E33 on Building and Environmental Acoustics.
Erik strives to be a leader in educating the design community on the applied science of acoustics to empower designers, contractors, and users to really “hear” their space. He leverages research to optimize noise and vibration control solutions for your building and occupants. In his spare time you can find him running, cycling, skiing, playing volleyball, or enjoying outdoor time with his family, dog, and chickens.
Inspiring Quote: “I was taught the way of progress is neither swift nor easy.”

Anita Joh, Acoustic Consultant
Director of K-12 Education
Anita Joh is an experienced Acoustical Consultant and has worked on a wide range of projects since starting her acoustics career in 2008. She enjoys providing technical and practical design to enhance acoustics and reduce unwanted noise. With broad experience in the fields of Architectural Acoustics, Mechanical Systems Noise and Vibration, Environmental Noise and Industrial Noise Control, she prides herself on collaborating on challenging designs. In addition to acoustics, Anita has an appreciation for materiality, sustainability, aesthetics, and handmade goods. She is always surprising her colleagues and clients with thoughtful gifts and notes.
Anita is an AIA CES presenter and has previously discussed topics on Architectural Acoustics in Residential Design, Acoustics in Green Design, and an ASHRAE Conference presenter on Noise Codes – Application to Mechanical Equipment. In her spare time, she enjoys adventures with Khodi and discovering new design inspirations, with an eye for gestural, lucent and iridescent palettes. Anita is an advocate for experiential learning, rescue animals, inclusiveness and diversity.

Drew Lodarek has been a practicing Acoustical Consultant since 2017 after graduating from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Acoustics. Having worked on a variety of projects, he most enjoys getting out in the field to conduct measurements and using his listening skills in conjunction with his engineering background to thoroughly investigate various acoustical challenges.
He also highly values outstanding customer service, believing that it is important to leave clients feeling confident, smarter, and that their needs and questions have been addressed. Drew is excited about teaching those around him about acoustics and helping to demystify what they hear.
If you run into Drew on the weekends, ask him about his latest landscape photography project, what concerts he is going to, and if he’s achieved a new deadlift PR. Or– tell him about yourself. He is more than happy to listen.
Favorite Quote: “A sufficiently curious and inquisitive mind can find interest in anything.”

Joshua Dunham, Acoustic Consultant
Should He Have a Title?
Joshua Dunham has a diverse background which includes a B.A. in Mathematics, a Master of Science in Architectural Acoustics, and a Master of Science in Astronautical Engineering. Having worked as an acoustical consultant in New York city, he has used his unique background to bring innovative ideas to a range of projects.
Joshua is fascinated by how using the first principles of acoustics can lead to innovative architectural design. Performance venues are Joshua’s natural habitat, whether he is enjoying an orchestra concert, or performing cello himself. Joshua relishes the opportunity to enable architects to respond creatively and iteratively to the sound in the rooms they design. He thrives on communicating with and translating between sonically-minded musicians, visually-minded architects, and technically-minded engineers. Joshua would like nothing better than to share a moment of genuine curiosity about the world with you.
Favorite Quote: “I believe that, basically, every artist wants nothing more than to tell his fellow people what he has in mind. With all expressions of art, whether it is music, literature or visual arts, it is first and foremost a matter of: communicating to the outside world and making sensorily perceptible a personal thought, a striking idea or an inner emotion.”

Alec Lindsay began his career as a performing concert violinist, graduating in 2014 with a Bachelors of Music from the New England Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts. With the long-held aspiration of pursuing his love of physics from an artistic and musical perspective, he developed his education by obtaining a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with an Acoustics concentration, from Boston University in 2019.
Originally from Anchorage Alaska, Alec’s first years in the consulting engineering field was as a Mechanical Project Engineer, focusing on HVAC and plumbing designs for commercial, industrial and institutional projects. He strives to bring his knowledge of physics, mechanical systems and vibration, and renewable energy applications to the forefront of his work as an acoustics professional. Alec’s side passions include rock climbing and competing in amateur billiards leagues, with the occasional wine tasting on weekends.
Favorite quote: “The discipline of practice every day is essential. When I skip a day, I notice a difference in my playing. After two days, the critics notice, and after three days, so does the audience.”
